East Village Artist Home

Designed for a writer and an actor, this 750 sf apartment was conceived as a hideaway, a quiet and warm space in the city. Rather than opening up the space, this project focuses on smaller, more intimate rooms, and the creation of dedicated spaces for each one of the artists. Within that, the design resolves the integration of storage in a way that feels effortless. Secondly, a balance between new and old elements: keeping an older New York character, a softer color scheme and furniture selection, while introducing more contemporary elements and modes of living. The project was designed and completed within the span of eight months.
