Le PÈRE West Hollywood

Located at 8507 Melrose Avenue, just west of La Cienega Boulevard, the 1,100 square foot space acts as a bi-coastal extension of Le Pere’s New York City flagship in the Lower East Side. In its previous iteration, the building was covered in pink vinyl that advertised its former tenant. BOND pushed to clean the entirety of the building’s facades and interiors, and bring back its original material palette. Outside, we re-introduced simple black window frames, as well as a vertical yellow neon light that spanned both floors. Clear glass windows now provide uninterrupted views into the boutique, similar to the brand’s store in NYC. Inside, a new gray epoxy floor and oak millwork gives the space a clean and bright feel that helps direct the view to the clothes. While keeping an open layout, BOND’s design introduced sculptural millwork pieces that serve for clothes display, a DJ stand, bookshelves, and auditorium seating. The result is a reinterpretation of Le PERE’s artful New York space, mixed with an homage to LA’s skate culture, parking lots, and theaters.
